What is your job title and what does this entail?

Regional Sales Manager. I am responsible for managing and supporting the Cape Town sales team in achieving a high quality product, as well as selling of advertising space on the Dash of Lime network of websites.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

So many things! Anything in advertising, an art dealer, an animator, a physio and an interior designer. I was a bit confused, but I at least I got it right in the end.

Why did you choose digital?

Digital chose me to be honest. I was working in 3D animation but needed more human interaction, so digital advertising was just the right balance of geek for me!

What excites you about the digital marketing and advertising industry?

I think, like most of us in digital, I love the pace and the ever evolving landscape. This is especially true for an emerging market like ours where we need to push the boundaries of innovation and creativity constantly. We are lucky to work in an industry where the people are passionate, and we get to be the ones to carve out the future of advertising in this country. I think that is pretty special!

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

The people for sure! I have some amazing clients and I get to spend most of my time with passionate people.

What is your favourite website in the Dash of Lime portfolio, and why?

iafrica.com, it has fantastic local content.

Do you have any advice for advertisers considering investing in online marketing?

Don’t see it as a standalone channel, integrate your online marketing into the overall strategy, invest in enough media to get your message across, and set yourself realistic objectives.

What is the one thing most people don’t know about you?

I’m a tom-boy at heart and love anything outdoors, surfing, diving, hiking… and if there’s a bit of adrenaline involved, even better!

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

People who can’t parallel park, or people who drive slow in the fast lane… I think they’re one and the same!

If we were to check your PVR/DVD library, what would we find?

Dexter, Shameless, Family Guy, Californication, Simpsons, American Dad.

What’s your superpower?

Empathy – I can read people’s emotions and help them feel comfortable in any situation.

If you could send a short letter to your sixteen year old self, what would it say?

Don’t worry, you’ll make it through your twenties alive!
